It all started at a hotel in a remote, Canadian National Park. Winters were bleak and there wasn’t much to do without tourists. Lindsay picked up some books about wine, thinking “maybe this will help with dinner service?” She never looked back.

Fast forward almost 20 years, Lindsay spent her whole career in some aspect of the wine business. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers, a recovering restaurateur, a past retail wine buyer, and always a lover of “the peak experience.”

For her, sharing a love for wine and food is a vocation. You can be in the industry, but the real work is at the dinner table, surrounded by friendly faces, great dishes, and beautiful bottles. Find that great pairing, share knowledge of a producer, vintage or style, swap stories, taste, discover. That’s where the magic is.

After living the city life in Vancouver for many years as a sommelier and wine salesman, Steven Lane decided to make the leap to the Okanagan Valley. Armed with nothing but a glass, a camera, and a good pair of boots, Steven quickly sunk his teeth into the local tapestry of vineyards and wineries, soaking up hands-on experience like a sponge and loving every minute of it. As the author of an anecdotal wine memoir titled The Drunken Sommelier, Steven’s approach to wine is focused on creating the ideal context and conditions in which to kick back, open the mind, and enjoy a great glass. Or preferably, a great bottle.
